Oxlade, Chris. Using Batteries. Chicago: Heinemann Library. 2012. 32p.
These nonfiction books teach science and electrical skills through examples that students will be familiar with. Large photographs, labels, table of contents, bold print, headings, glossary and picture boxes cover all of the common core elements necessary for teaching with nonfiction books. Other books in the series include: Conductors and Insulators, Making a Circuit and Using Electricity. These will be a nice addition to any science unit and can easily be read-aloud to a large group.
