Park, Linda Sue. Xander's Panda Party. New York: Clarion, 2013. 40p.
While Xander begins planning a panda party, he realizes that he is the only panda at the zoo. He soon opens the party up to all bears but feels badly when he discovers that his koala friend is actually a marsupial, not a bear. Through rhyming text, Xander continues to open his party up to more and more of the zoo as he decides that including everyone makes him happier.
This book is a fun read-aloud that will enhance science lessons on classifying animals, reading lessons on defining words through context clues and character education lessons on including others.
