Teague, Mark. The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf. New York: Orchard Books, 2013. 48p.
If you are looking for a fractured version of The Three Little Pigs, this is humorous take off on the original version would make a great read-aloud during a fairy tale unit. In this tale, the farmer sells his farm and pays the three little pigs for all of their hard work. On their own in the world, the first two pigs build cheap houses of straw and sticks, while the third pig invests all of his money into a strong brick house. The large oil illustrations are animated and colorful, and students will easily be able to identify the similarities and differences between this and the original version.
