Boot, a back porch dog, and Shoe, a front porch dog, spend their nights together in their shared bed but like to be on their own porches during the day. When a rambunctious squirrel starts some trouble, both dogs end up on the wrong porches and are sad to find that their companions are missing. They go around and around the house searching for one another in this silly story that's great for a fun read-aloud or for pet-loving students practicing their independent reading. Repetition of many words throughout the book will give student readers confidence!
